This 15-day safari circuit is designed for wildlife-focused travellers who want to experience Sri Lanka’s most productive parks while enjoying the island’s cultural and highland highlights. From the remote lakes and scrub of Wilpattu to the leopard-rich plains of Yala, combined with misty tea-country treks and colonial Galle, the route balances thrilling safaris with restorative lodge stays and authentic cultural visits.

📅 Day-by-Day Itinerary

Day 1 | Arrival: BIA → Negombo
Arrive at Bandaranaike International Airport. Our representative will welcome you and transfer you to Negombo. Check in and relax after your journey; enjoy a seaside evening and overnight in Negombo.

Day 2 | Negombo → Wilpattu (Evening Safari)
After a relaxed morning, transfer northwest to Wilpattu National Park. Enjoy an evening safari as the park comes alive — Wilpattu is famed for its “villus” (seasonal lakes) and diverse wildlife. Overnight near Wilpattu.

Day 3 | Wilpattu: Full Day Safari
Spend a full day exploring Wilpattu with morning and afternoon safaris. The park’s mosaic of dry forest and lakes provides excellent habitat for sloth bears, elephants, deer and many bird species.

Day 4 | Wilpattu → Dambulla (Minneriya Evening Safari)
Transfer toward the Cultural Triangle to Dambulla. Later, head out for an evening safari at Minneriya National Park, famous for its seasonal elephant gatherings (the “Minneriya Herd”).

Day 5 | Dambulla → Kandy (via Sigiriya)
Morning visit to Sigiriya Rock Fortress, climb its stairways for panoramic views. Then transfer to Kandy for the evening and overnight.

Day 6 | Kandy (Temple of the Tooth) → Nuwara Eliya
Visit Kandy’s revered Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic before travelling into the hill country. En route, stop at Ramboda Waterfall and a working tea plantation for a plantation tour. Overnight in Nuwara Eliya.

Day 7 | Nuwara Eliya: Horton Plains Trek
Early morning hike in Horton Plains National Park to reach World’s End and Baker’s Falls. Return to Nuwara Eliya for an evening at leisure.

Day 8 | Nuwara Eliya → Udawalawe (via Ella Nine Arches)
Depart the highlands and travel south. En route, stop at the famous Nine Arches Bridge in Ella for a photo and short stroll. Continue to the Udawalawe area for your overnight stay.

Day 9 | Udawalawe: Morning Safari → Transfer to Yala
Morning jeep safari in Udawalawe National Park — renowned for large elephant populations. After the safari, transfer to Yala region. Overnight near Yala.

Day 10 | Yala: Full Day Safari
Full day dedicated to wildlife viewing in Yala National Park — prime territory for leopards, elephants, sloth bears and rich birdlife. Multiple game drives across the day maximize sightings.

Day 11 | Yala → Galle
After a relaxed morning, transfer to the southern coast to Galle. Evening at leisure and overnight in the historic fortified town.

Day 12 | Galle: Leisure & Fort Visit
Relax at your hotel or explore the cobbled lanes and ramparts of Galle Fort. Evening free to enjoy the fort’s cafés and sunset views.

Day 13 | Galle: Relaxation or Optional Activities
Another day for leisure — choose optional activities such as a coastal boat trip, surf lesson, or a morning whale-watching tour from Mirissa (seasonal).

Day 14 | Galle → Colombo (City Tour)
Transfer north to Colombo. Enjoy an afternoon/evening city tour covering colonial sites, markets and the seaside promenade. Overnight in Colombo.

Day 15 | Colombo → BIA (Departure)
After breakfast, private transfer to Bandaranaike International Airport for your onward flight. End of tour.
