Starting in Negombo at dawn, this cultural trail blends discovery with scenic travel across the island’s historic heartland.


Itinerary

Your chauffeur guide will pick you up from your Negombo hotel at 06:00 am. The day unfolds as follows:

  • Dambadeniya Kingdom – Arrive after a ~3-hour drive. Explore for around 2 hours, uncovering palace ruins and hilltop views.
  • Panduwasnuwara Kingdom – Travel ~1 hour to reach this ancient capital. Spend ~1 hour exploring its monasteries and royal remains.
  • Yapahuwa Rock Fortress – A ~1–1.5 hour drive brings you to this striking rock citadel. Climb and explore for about 2 hours.

After exploring Yapahuwa, begin your return journey to Negombo, arriving by evening. Expect a day filled with history, architecture, and panoramic landscapes.
